The new Foil has the same well-proven lightweight and aerodynamic frame as the previous version and is still amongst the lightest aero bikes on the market. In order to minimize its air drag and to make it even more outstanding it got a completely new cockpit (fork, headset and handlebar) which allows for fully internal cable routing both for mechanical and electronical shifting.
AERODYNAMIC CONSTRUCTION - The core of the SCOTT Foil’s aerodynamic construction is its patented airfoil design- F01 Technology. F01 has been used on bikes that have won stages on all grand tours, several classics including Paris-Roubaix and many more. Thanks to its new fork design and integrated cable routing the air drag got further minimalized.
INTEGRATION - The new Foil has completely integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronical shifting. This was achieved by our engineers without any compromise on shifting or braking quality, as well as on the stiffness of the headset. On top of that it will be surprisingly easy for mechanics to change cables and maintain the bike.
NEW FORK - The fork got completely redesigned to allow fully integrated cable routing and to guarantee perfect airflow to reduce the drag even further. The new fork comes with a tire clearance to accommodate up to 30C tires.
POWER TRANSFER - The PF86 bottom bracket allows for a wide connection of the downtube and the tapered seat tube to the BB. SCOTT’s patented carbon manufacturing process and its unique carbon lay-up enable an extremely stiff bottom bracket.
COMFORT ZONE CONSTRUCTION - The Foil features a low seatstay attachment which in combination with a modified and noticeably thin seatstay shape leads to a smooth riding experience even on rough roads. This concept was most evident with Mat Hayman’s Paris Roubaix win. The focused approach to improve comfort on the Foil resulted in a sizeable increase in vertical compliance.
HEAD TUBE - The head tube on the Foil features a head-to-toe aero profile with excellent aerodynamic properties especially at low yaw angles. The shape of the leading edge is optimized with additional carbon layers in order to be as aerodynamic as possible. Furthermore, an aero profile ensures the perfect transition between the frame and the fork for maximum aerodynamic performance.
SYNCROS CRESTON IC SL - Clean and uncluttered, the Syncros combo cockpit allows us to route all the cables completely internally through the bar, headset and into the frame as part of SCOTT’s new ICC routing. Working with internationally renowned partner Gebiomized, we’ve created the ultimate ergonomic shape for riders. The V-shape has also allowed us to drop the weight and optimize stiffness, simultaneously improving cable routing making mechanics lives easier. We can get more aero too by tucking our new computer integration into the gap.
